We are a small independent label in Hameln, in the north of Germany. We are sure that you know the famous fairytale about the pied piper.

But our artists are not a fairytale. They are real. And we love our artist and their music. Our trademark:

Our artists were on stage with Marilyn Manson, DeVision, Him and Soft Cell. They were playing on big festivals like the M‘Era Luna Festival.

But this is only the sector of dark music.

We are proud to have artists with wonderful positively romantic music. With lovely Grand Piano, deep voice and wonderful lyrics.

Outside a storm is raging, inside Ralph Maten sits in front of a microphone and his piano writing songs. He has locked himself in his recording studio to finish his 6th Solo-Album. Telephones switched off, entry only for a number of guest musicians – and the pizzaservice. Sometimes you need the famous kick in the arse to get it done. In this case it was the longing for something that seemed unattainable. Lover’s grief, how trivial. But the so-called Blues have always been a motivation for many good songs. That’s why Maten opens his album with „Sad Song (Daft Song)“. Life is easier when you don’t take yourself too seriosly.

For more than 8 years Ralph Maten performed at the big venues and stages of Dark Rock, Gothic and Electro, he crawled the pubs with Ville Vallo (HIM) and supported great artists like Marilyn Manson. But he reinvented himself, back to the small clubs – close to the audience.

The press called him „Velvetman“ as his music is full of melancholy. His interpretation of well-known songs like the Tears for Fears classic „Shout“ sound very tender and will take you to another world.

Ralph Maten’s voice has been compared to the warmth of a very young Cat Stevens. Combined with his beautiful played piano this is a feast for the senses.

With his 7th solo album, Ralph Maten once again proves that he is not nicknamed "The Velvet Man" for nothing. He worked on "Colours" for one year: writing songs, writing lyrics, collecting ideas. Everything was recorded, sung himself and also produced in his own studio. His own compositions flow calmly and slightly jazzy into the mixer and drip like balm in your ears. 10 of the 15 titles are 100% from his own pen. But Maten also left its own mark on the cover versions, such as "Streets of London" or "Wonderful Life". He juggles between pop, rock, jazz, blues and reggae. Still his trademark is and remains: voice and piano. The title "You’re Under My Skin", a tribute to Frank Sinatra, would have driven "Old Blue-Eyes" to tears. Just as with his last studio album "Cheers For Tears" (2018), Ralph Maten also created a beautiful duet with "Let Me Down Easy" for "Colors" this time with his daughter Lea-Tamara Maten (15 years).

Maten is in top form and the three instrumentals also blend in seamlessly and reflect the melancholy mood of the album. Here Maten has committed himself to Nils Frahm. And on his last visit to a small jazz club, he was ashamed of a drunk business man who loved music less than "seeing and being seen". Maten then created the work "The Grasshopper In The Jazz Club".
All in all a worth listening, harmonious disc, which is best enjoyed in front of the fireplace with a glass of red wine!
